|Founded in 1984 by George Alan Gardner MBE, BAgr,
PhD, FIFST. Formerly the Chief Technical Officer of the Ulster Curers
Association, Technical Division, which he joined in 1965 as Research
Bacteriologist until its closure in 1984.
Author of 37 papers in scientific publications and text books, he
has contributed to the reference panel and editorial boards of various
journals as well as a consultant to the International Commision on
Microbiological Specifications for Foods (ICMSF)
A former chairman of IFST (Northern Ireland Branch), Council member
of the Irish Society of Food Hygiene & Technology, committee member
of the Society of Applied Bacteriology (now SfAM), He was awarded,
in 1993, the MBE for services to development in microbiology.
The Beechwood Laboratories team is composed of technical and scientific
staff with a wide range of formal education and experience. Subjects
